  • Abstract:
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to prioritize cells that support EN-DC over similar cells not supporting EN-DC. The UE may be configured to perform one or more measurement scans associated with cell selection and/or cell re-selection and may determine whether at least two LTE cells meet a selection criteria based on RSRP and/or SNR measurements. The UE may be configured to, in response to determining that at least two LTE cells meet the selection criteria, prioritize a first LTE cell of the at least two LTE cells over a second LTE cell of the at least two LTE cells based, at least in part, on support EN-DC. The first LTE cell may indicate support of EN-DC, e.g., via a ULI IE included in a SIB2 broadcast by the first LTE cell. The UE may be configured to select the first LTE cell for camping.

  • Abstract:
This disclosure relates to techniques for opportunistically depowering receiver chains of a wireless device. Based on control information, a device may determine whether the current number of active receiver chains can be reduced while maintaining a target achievable code rate for a period of data reception associated with the control information. Additionally, the device may generate and use a lookup table to determine whether to depower receiver chains, and which receiver chains to depower.

    - Irvine CA, US
Manish Vemulapalli - San Diego CA, US
Jim Oates - La Jolla CA, US
Yuqiang Tang - Plano TX, US
  • Assignee:

  • International Classification:
    H04W 24/02
    H04W 52/04
  • US Classification:
    455 6711
  • Abstract:
A wireless network includes a plurality of small cells. The small cells each register with the network, and an application server tracks the locations of the small cells within the network. Upon entry to the network, the small cell registers with various event packages managed by the application server. When a small cell in the network updates its configurations and/or parameters, the small cell publishes those changes to the application server. The application server determines other nearby small cells that are “interested” in those changes based on their proximity to the changed cell. The application server then notifies those proximate cells of the changes made to the changed cell so that the proximate cells can update their own configurations.

  • Abstract:
A duplexing method is provided that combines aspects of Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) and Time Division Duplex (TDD) methods in a network, such as a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network. The duplexing method may be implemented on an existing FDD network by replacing the FDD uplink (UL)-only radio frame with a full TDD radio frame having dynamically allocable UL and downlink (DL) sub-frames. Alternatively, the duplexing method may be implemented on an existing TDD network by adding a second frequency to pair with an existing frequency over which a FDD DL-only radio frame can be run.
