This time we dont know when were going back. This is the great unknown, said Katie Larson, a nurse on a spinal surgery recovery floor who carried a sign Monday morning that said H7000 Has a Backbone.
About 50 rescuers with dog teams searched for the man Saturday, but they battled horrible conditions, according to Katie Larson, of the Sheriffs Office. Overnight, the mountain got another big dump of snow, making the conditions too dangerous to send searchers back in, she said.

Snowshoer Missing After Avalanche Strikes in Cascade Mountains
"They started out, everything's fine, they're in a gully-type area - when they're hit by the avalanche," Sgt. Katie Larson, spokeswoman for the King County Sheriff's Office, told ABC News' Seattle affiliate KOMO-TV.
Sgt. Katie Larson, with the King County Sheriff's Office, said a team of rescuers worked through the night in blizzard-like conditions to carry the female snowshoer off the mountain just after midnight.
King County Sgt. Katie Larson said rescuers carried a female snowshoer off of Red Mountain in blizzard-like conditions early Sunday. The woman was confirmed dead at the rescue base. She had been hiking with her dog near a group of a dozen other people when an avalanche hit Saturday.
Officials were sure that a man was missing at the Granite Mountain site, where an avalanche caught three snowshoers, all from South King County, and carried them about 1,000 feet, said Sgt. Katie Larson of the King County Sheriffs Office.
"The gas didn't work, we've got fresh people here, it was time to take the next step," said King County Sheriff's Sgt. Katie Larson. "There's been a huge sigh of relief. Our people are out safe, and the trails are now safe for the community to use."
