Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for identifying viewing information associated with a digital media device are disclosed. In an example method, data conveyed via a data bus communicatively coupled to a processor and a data storage device associated with the digital media device is monitored. Event information associated with the digital media device is extracted from the data and the viewing information is identified based on the event information.

Methods and apparatus to determine audience viewing of recorded programs are disclosed. An example method disclosed herein comprises displaying a previously recorded program on a display, determining a possible original broadcast time corresponding to the previously recorded program, determining program identifying information corresponding to the previously recorded program, and processing the possible original broadcast time information and the program identifying information to compare the previously recorded program with a known broadcast program.

Abstract:
Example methods and apparatus for associating media devices with a demographic composition of a geographic area are disclosed. A disclosed example method includes receiving a plurality of Internet Protocol addresses assigned to a media device associated with a panel member, determining a most used Internet Protocol address from the plurality of Internet Protocol addresses, accessing geographic information and determining a geographic location corresponding to the most used Internet Protocol address, accessing demographic information and determining a demographic profile associated with the geographic location, and associating at least one of the geographic location or the demographic profile with the media device.

Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to determine audience viewing of recorded programs are disclosed. An example method disclosed herein comprises processing first bus information obtained by monitoring a bus of a time shifting device to determine a record time corresponding to when the time-shifting device stored data associated with first media content being recorded for later presentation, processing second bus information obtained by monitoring the bus of the time shifting device to determine a playback time corresponding to when the time-shifting device later retrieved the data to present the recorded first media content, and estimating a possible distribution time corresponding to when the first media content was initially distributed to the time-shifting device based on a difference between the playback time and the record time.

Abstract:
Example methods and apparatus for associating media devices with a demographic composition of a geographic area are disclosed. Disclosed example apparatus are to obtain a plurality of Internet Protocol addresses assigned to a media device associated with a panel member. Disclosed example apparatus are also to determine a most used Internet Protocol address from the plurality of Internet Protocol addresses, determine a geographic location corresponding to the most used Internet Protocol address, associate a geographic area with the media device in response to a determination that the geographic location corresponds to a location of an internet service provider, determine a demographic profile associated with the geographic area, and associate the demographic profile with the media device.

Abstract:
Example methods and apparatus for associating media devices with a demographic composition of a geographic area are disclosed. Disclosed example apparatus include means for receiving a plurality of Internet Protocol addresses assigned to a media device associated with a panel member. Disclosed example apparatus also include means for resolving addresses, the means for resolving to determine a most used Internet Protocol address from the plurality of Internet Protocol addresses, determine a geographic location corresponding to the most used Internet Protocol address, in response to determining the geographic location corresponds to a location of an internet service provider, associate a geographic area with the media device, determine a demographic profile associated with the geographic are, and associate the demographic profile with the media device.

Methods And Apparatus To Calculate Video-On-Demand And Dynamically Inserted Advertisement Viewing Probability

Borawski - Oldsmar FL, US Joseph G. Milavsky - Dunedin FL, US Paul Donato - New York NY, US Balachander Shankar - Tampa FL, US David J. Kurzynski - South Elgin IL, US
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to calculate video-on-demand and dynamically inserted advertisement viewing probability. An example apparatus disclosed herein includes a category manager to identify a targeting strategy for advertisements associated with media presented in a first set of households and a second set of households, a probability engine to calculate a baseline viewing probability for a non-time shifted presentation of the media in the first set of households and the second set of households, and in response to identifying presentations of the media having a subsequent temporal sequence from the non-time shifted presentation, calculate corresponding time-shifted viewing probabilities of the media for the first set of households and the second set of households, and an imputation engine to generate viewing probability trend information of the media for the first set of households and the second set of households, the viewing probability trend information based on the respective time-shifted viewing probabilities, and adjust the targeting strategy to reduce wasteful targeting of the advertisements, the adjustment to select one of the first set of households or the second set of households to insert the advertisements based on the viewing probability trend information.
