This invention is a grounding apparatus for single-handed with a housing, a grinding mechanism having a rotary grinding wheel, a driving mechanism having an operating lever directly attached to a rack with a curved locus, a drive shaft coaxially affixed to the grinding wheel and the pinion gear.
One embodiment of the present invention includes a cookware article comprising a handle, two opposable surfaces, a detachable hinge, a lifting handle, and a means for locking the opposable surfaces. Another embodiment consists of the aforementioned article wherein the means for locking is comprised of: a stationary sleeve with a second handle positioned at the end, a stationary pin with a positioning collar, a semi-circular collar accommodating a rotation limiting latch pin and shoulder stop wherein said semi-circular collar is interlocked with said stationary pin, a round shaft accommodating lateral movement limiting rings, wherein said shaft is inserted through said stationary sleeve, wherein said stationary sleeve is attached to one opposing cookware surface. Another embodiment includes the use of a second handle to lift one opposing cookware surface away from the other opposing cookware surface. Another embodiment includes a circular collar instead of a semi-circular collar. Another embodiment further includes a return spring in the means for locking. Another embodiment of the present invention includes a means for locking wherein the circular collar accommodating a rotation limiting latch pin and two shoulder stops, wherein one of said shoulder stop limits movement of said shaft in the counter-clockwise direction and the other said shoulder stop limits movement of said shaft in the clockwise direction instead of the semi-circular collar. Another variation of this embodiment further consists of a second handle which can rotate the range between approximately 20 degrees and 60 degrees. Another embodiment of the present invention further includes a feature wherein the means for locking is detachable from the cookware.
One embodiment of the present invention includes a locking apparatus for cookware with two opposing surfaces comprising a stationary sleeve with a handle positioned at the end, a stationary pin with a positioning collar, a semi-circular collar accommodating a rotation limiting latch pin and shoulder stop wherein said semi-circular collar is interlocked with said stationary pin, a round shaft accommodating lateral movement limiting rings, wherein said shaft is inserted through said stationary sleeve, and wherein said stationary sleeve is attached to one opposing cookware surface. Another embodiment of the present invention further includes the capability of the handle to be used to lift one opposing cookware surface away from the other opposing cookware surface. Another embodiment of the present invention comprises a circular collar instead of a semi-circular collar. Another embodiment of the present invention includes a return spring. Another embodiment of the present invention includes a semi-circular collar comprised of circular collar accommodating a rotation limiting latch pin and two shoulder stops, wherein one of said shoulder stop limits movement of said shaft in the counter-clockwise direction and the other said shoulder stop limits movement of said shaft in the clockwise direction. Another variation of this embodiment further consists of a handle which can rotate the range between approximately 20 degrees and 60 degrees. Another embodiment of the present invention further includes a feature wherein the locking apparatus is detachable from the cookware.
A smoking apparatus that is placed into the cooking chamber of an outdoor grill is disclosed. A heating element is housed in an ash container, elevated with a riser and secured together with riser anchors. An arm contains and protects the heating element, resistance wires, and connected conductor wires is attached to a handle which facilitates portability and houses an indicator light, thermostatic controller, conductor wires, and an adjustment knob assembly. A power cord provides alternating current including an earth ground. The smoking wood is placed on the heating element and the ash container is positioned directly on the grill. The lid of the outdoor grill is closed, and rests directly upon the arm, with the handle and power cord extending outside of the outdoor grill.
The present invention pertains to a portable apparatus that is placed into a covered outdoor grill that facilitates cooking food by indirect heat. The outdoor grill has a charcoal, electric, or gas heat source which provides the direct heat that is transformed into an indirect heat by a raised cooking grill with a heat shield that is selectively locatable between the food and the heat source.
The present invention is hand operated food grinding apparatus into which is designed a series of opposing parallel ridges to enable the food item such as garlic, peppercorn, spices, coffee etc. to be ground into coarsely ground portions or finely ground portions depending on the arrangement and design of the opposing parallel ridges. The hand grinding apparatus has a base having an upper surface made of a series of parallel ridges separated by parallel groves wherein each of the parallel ridges has a flat upper surface, and also comprises a top member having a lower surface made of an opposing series of parallel ridges separated by parallel grooves wherein each of the parallel ridges has a surface, and wherein a respective ridge of the base member is aligned with a respective ridge of a top member or a respective ridge of a base member is offset from a respective ridge or a top member. In an alternative embodiment of the present invention, a hand grinding apparatus has a first base member having an upper surface made of a series of parallel ridges which are rounded in a concave fashion to be rounded into the base and are separated by a series of parallel concave grooves, wherein each of the parallel concave ridges has a rounded or flat surface, and also has a second top member having a lower surface made of a series of parallel convex ridges separated by parallel convex grooves, wherein each of the parallel convex ridges has a rounded or flat surface, and wherein each of the convex parallel ridges of the top member is aligned with each of the concave parallel grooves of the base member or offset therefrom.
