Abstract:
A foldable utility cart () includes a pair of spaced, parallel frame members (). A collar () is disposed about each of the frame members () and is slidable therealong. A pair of front legs () and a pair of rear legs () are pivotally connected to the collars (). The front and rear legs () each support a wheel (). The collars () can be moved from a raised position where the legs () and wheels () are folded adjacent each other, to a lowered position where the legs () and wheels () are extended to support the cart () for movement on the ground. The cart () includes a moveable basket carrier assembly (). The basket carrier assembly () includes toothed racks () that are connected to channel members () for movement therealong. A ratchet clutch () is used to permit up or down movement of the racks () and to maintain the racks () at any desired vertical position.

Abstract:
A phonetic transliteration card display includes a display board to which a plurality of display cards can be secured removably. The card display enables a person who speaks a first language, but not a second language, to speak simple phrases in the second language and be understood by a listener who speaks only the second language. This result is accomplished by displaying a source phrase in the first language on each display card, along with a target phrase that constitutes a translation of the source phrase in the second language. A phonetic transliteration of the target phrase is displayed in the first language. When the phonetic transliteration is read aloud by the speaker, the listener will hear, and therefore understand, the target phrase. The cards can be color-coded by subject matter, if desired. The display board contains a chamber that permits a number of display cards to be stored.

Abstract:
A heterogeneous blend of elastomers having a stabilized morphology, as well as the method of making the same, comprises at least two radiation cross-linkable elastomers which form a heterogeneous blend. The radiation cross-linkable elastomer components are selected from the class consisting of conjugated dienes having from 4 to 12 carbon atoms, natural rubber, polyalkenamers such as polypentenamer, chlorinated polyolefinic elastomers having from 2 to 8 carbon atoms such as chlorinated polyethylene, ethylenepropylene terpolymers, polysiloxanes, nitrile rubber, butadiene-acrylic copolymers, chlorosulfonated polyethylene, butadiene vinyl pyridine copolymers, substituted phosphazenes, aliphatic polyesters which are substantially non-crystalline and have 6 carbon atoms or more in the repeating unit, preferably from 6 to 12 carbon atoms, butyl copolymers containing groups with unsaturation, a butadiene-styrene copolymer and a copolymer, terpolymer, etc. , made from a conjugated diene having from 4 to 12 carbon atoms and from monomers selected from the class consisting of a vinyl aromatic having from 8 to 15 carbon atoms, acrylonitrile, and olefins having from 2 to 8 carbon atoms. The morphology of the heterogeneoous blend is greatly improved or fully stabilized by irradiating to a point below to slightly above the gel dose of the blend, that is up to a point where the blend has 15 percent and preferably up to 5 percent gel.

Abstract:
There is provided a method of improving the properties of polyester monofilaments in respect to loop strength and resistance to fibrillation. The process contemplates treating an undrawn substantially noncrystalline extensible spun linear polyethylene terephthalate monofilament with a vapor medium such as steam and, while the monofilament is exposed to such vapor, drawing the monofilament at a draw ratio of from 1. 5:1 to 4:1 and further drawing the monofilament in a subsequent drawing operation to an aggregate draw ratio of from 4:1 to 10:1. The process enables development of the maximum or a desired loop strength value for the particular monofilament being processed with optimization of specific drawing conditions such as the steam pressure within the indicated draw ratios. Thus, drawn monofilaments having loop strength values of at least 2. 5 grams/denier are provided, and the drawn products are particularly useful as reinforcing elements in rubber bodies, e. g.

Abstract:
A dementia therapy method that involves PWD in playing music, particularly as part of an ensemble “performing in concert”, which provides a rewarding and encouraging result of utilizing abilities that they may not even know they had to produce pleasing music. This method utilizes musical instruments adapted for playing by PWD who can utilize procedural rather than declarative memory in playing. By connecting a plurality of the instruments to a central director's console the combined musical sound can be coordinated to make it pleasing. Then several PWD are trained to play components of songs together as an group. An example of our specially adapted musical instruments is an easily played percussion instrument having an organized layout of one or more tone bars that, when struck (or touched) by a player generate a musical tone. The instrument may be further adapted to ease its use by movement restricted players.
