  • Filed:
    Aug 9, 1976
  • Appl. No.:
    5/712484
  • Inventors:
Bernard A. Seckendorf - Flushing NY
  • International Classification:
    G03B 1902
    G03B 1726
    G03B 910
  • US Classification:
    354121
  • Abstract:
A photographic film cassette comprises a cylindrical container having a circular bottom, a circular piece of photographic film supported in the cassette substantially parallel to the bottom of the cassette and means fixed to the cassette and adapted to be engaged by means for rotating the cassette for successive exposure of sectors of the film therein. Also, for a camera, there is provided the combination of a shutter and a shutter actuating means, the shutter comprising a single member at least a portion of which is a first permanent magnet and the shutter actuating means comprises a second permanent magnet. The shutter is actuated by the shutter actuating means by magnetic repulsion. The cassette and shutter mechanism, while not limited to such use, lend themselves particularly well to use in a wrist camera. The wrist camera comprises a casing of diameter substantially no greater than the diameter of the wearer's wrist, a wrist band for snugly securing the casing to the wrist, the aforementioned cassette, means for rotating the cassette from outside the casing, a lens in a wall of the casing and the aforementioned shutter mechanism.

  • US Classification:
    354121
  • Abstract:
A wrist camera having a cassette housing for receiving a cassette, and a front housing enclosing a shutter assembly. The cassette includes a gear cup for holding a film in a recess of a first cassette disc, and a second cassette disc rotatably held in the first cassette disc. The cassette discs have projections cooperating with one another and with a projection in the front housing, to enable alignment of apertures therein. The shutter in the front housing has magnets cooperating with a magnet on an actuator, to open the optical axis by a magnetic repulsion force, as well as by a magnetic attraction force.

    G03B 910
  • US Classification:
    354129
  • Abstract:
Magnet-actuable flash apparatus includes a light admission member having an aperture therein and a shutter member also having an aperture therein. The shutter member is movable relative to the light admission member for selective alignment of the apertures to permit the passage of light therethrough. A shutter member actuating member is adapted to move the shutter member between a first position in which the two apertures are out of alignment and a second position in which they are in alignment. A normally open switch, closable in response to the influence of a magnetic field, is adapted to be series connected in an electrical circuit with a source of electrical energy and an artificial light producing element. Permanent magnets are carried by the shutter member and the shutter member actuating member. One of such magnets selectively provides a magnetic field in such proximity to the switch in timed relation to the alignment of the apertures in the shutter member and the light admission member that the switch is caused to close and actuate the artificial light producing elememnt during at least a portion of the time when the apertures are in alignment.
