    A thermal-electrical assembly () provides with improved heat sinking, electrical shielding and electrical grounding. The thermal-electrical assembly is configured using a shield () having a windowed aperture (), a pliable frame () formed of thermally and electrically conductive material having contours () that fit within and are retained by the windowed aperture, and a thermal insert () formed to fit within the pliable frame. The combination of pliable frame and thermal insert () close off the shield () while providing contact areas for dissipating heat from heat generating circuitry or components. Communication devices, such as portable radios having tight space constraints, can incorporate the thermal-electrical assembly () to minimize electrical emissions while maximizing heat dissipation.

    An antenna assembly allows for a retractable/extendable antenna to be used in conjunction with a sealed portable communication device (). An antenna bushing assembly () is used in conjunction with a sealed housing () having an unsealed compartment (). The sealed housing () includes a radio frequency (RF) connector () formed therein. The bushing assembly () includes an RF plug () for mating with the RF connector () of the sealed housing (). A sleeve () extends from the bushing assembly () to act as a passageway fro water intrusion into the unsealed compartment (). An antenna () can thus retract and extend within the sleeve () of the unsealed compartment () while the RF connection remains intact due to the interconnect provided between the bushing assembly () and the sealed housing ().

  • Abstract:
    A method is provided that generates a sound illusion profile to replicate a quantity of resources arriving at an incident scene. A virtual partner or the like determines that an incident has escalated from a first severity level to a second severity level. The virtual partner determines a quantity of resources needed to deescalate the incident to the first severity level. A sound illusion profile is generated to replicate a sound associated with the quantity of resources. A signal is sent to one or more speaker devices in a region surrounding the location of the incident to generate an output sound based on the sound illusion profile.
