Network ( ) collects performance data associated with each network element, passes the performance data associated with each network element to a network management element ( ), creating a global traffic conditioning control, communicates the global traffic conditioning control to at least one of the plurality of network elements, and re-shapes an internal control of at least one of the plurality of network elements based on the global traffic conditioning control. In another aspect, a network ( ) detects congestion of a micro communication flow associated with at least one of a plurality of communication traffic flows at a first network element, detects a communication traffic flow priority at a first level associated with the congested micro communication flow, changes at a second network element, in an upstream communication flow in relation with the first network element, the priority from the first level to a second level.

Abstract:

A method () for context information management in a communication device includes a first step () of providing contextual information in the communication device that can be downloaded by a content provider. A next step () includes assigning access limitations to the contextual information. A next step () includes filtering a request for contextual information from a content provider with the access limitations from the previous step to identify contextual information that is permissible to be downloaded. A next step () includes sending the identified permissible contextual information to the content provider.

A wireless communication system includes switching infrastructure (150) and at least one location area ("LA") having a multiplicity of cells (the "multiple-cell LA") (103). When a mobile (100) enters a cell belonging to the multiple-cell LA, the mobile is arranged with a cell-registration feature that enables it to register with the serving cell site, thus forming a registration with the cell site. When the mobile enters a further cell belonging to the multiple-cell LA, the mobile registers with the corresponding further cell site, thus forming a registration with the further cell site. When the switching infrastructure receives a call attempt towards the mobile, the switching infrastructure pages the mobile in only those cells in which a cell registration exists for the mobile.
