COSTA MESA, Calif., March 14 (LocalBusiness.com) -- As a boy growing up in Damascus, Syria, Amer Moujtahed went to work with his father.
"My father wanted me to be with him," Moujtahed said. So it was at a shop in downtown Damascus that young Moujtahed learned about people and machines.
The machines weren't electronic. They were tools people, such as welders, used in factories. "We would demo the machines to customers," Moujtahed recalled. "I was fascinated by the machines and by what they did."
The experience, he said, taught him to be independent. Watching his father also taught him something about how to build a business. "You can grow if you put your heart into it," he said.
Damascus is a long way from Costa Mesa where Moujtahed now works. On the weekends, reminiscent of his father, Moujtahed brings his two young sons to work.
"They can surf the 'Net, run the browsers and install CDs," he said proudly.
