Abstract:
A method and apparatus for a supercharger wherein pressurized air originating from the compressor side is fed into its gear box for draining the oil therein due to the reduced size of the gear box. The supercharger includes a gear case encompassing the drive gear and the driven gear. The gear case has at least one oil inlet in the gear case to receive oil, and at least one oil outlet on the gear case. An air passage has a first end connected to the compressor end down stream in relation to the compressor wheel, and a second end connected to the gear box, whereby pressurized air at the compressor end is disposed to be channeled toward the inside of the gear box for draining lubricating fluid therein.

Abstract:
A turbocharger construction of the divided turbine housing type. To prevent failure of the divider wall due to thermally induced stresses, the divider wall is separate from the housing and means are provided to enable at least the major portion of the divider wall to move radially with respect to the housing.

Abstract:
This relates to improvements in turbochargers and more particularly to the venting of the bearing housing of a turbocharger adjacent the compressor housing. Under certain operating conditions, insufficient air is available for the compressor intake, with the result that the compressor draws a vacuum within the compressor housing and causes an undesirable flow of lubricant from the turbocharger bearings to the compressor discharge. This vacuum is applied to the interior of the bearing housing in the general area of the oil deflector and thrust bearing. A vent passage is formed through the oil deflector and the thrust bearing and down between the thrust bearing and bearing support so as to vent that portion of the bearing housing to the lubricant drain cavity, and thereby inhibit undesirable lubricant flow to the compressor discharge.

Abstract:
A system for disposing of large amounts of infectious hospital waste includes a generally sealed enclosure containing an apparatus for delivery, disintegration, and decontamination of waste materials. A dual conveyor arrangement provides a positive delivery of large waste containers to be disposed to a disintegrator while preventing material from being thrown from the disintegrator. The disintegrator comprises two, large, counter-rotating hammermills capable of effectively disintegrating articles of substantial size. The system enclosure is maintained at a negative pressure and adapted to prevent escape of airborne contamination from the system. A variety of protective features is also incorporated into the system to clear the disintegrator in cases of overload, to avoid power surges upon system start-up, and to effect an orderly shutdown of the system.

Abstract:
An electric shaver is arranged to alleviate a cause of psuedofolliculitis by cutting low-lying facial hairs to a predetermined length. The electric shaver comprises a movable cutter and a perforated shaving foil having ribs protruding from a surface normally placed in contact with a user's beard. The shaving foil is arranged to move simultaneously with the cutter so that the ribs might lift and direct low-lying facial hairs through the perforations in the foil for shearing by the moving cutter.
