Abstract:

A method and apparatus for forming three-dimensional patterns by depositing a crystalloid material onto substrate in a layer by layer fashion. The apparatus includes a computer responsive for controlling the material depositing rate and the three-dimensional relative movement between the depositing head and the substrate. The controlling information comes from the sliced CAD model of the part. For each cross-section, the depositing head plots the boundary and the interior while the building material comes out of the head. The crystalloid material deposited on the substrate or previous layer of the part rapidly freezes forming a new layer of the part. The material can be deposited by a continuous extruding device or a drop-on-demand device. Where necessary, support structure is built in the same way but with material of a different melting point. The ambient temperature is accurately controlled to a certain low point in order to make the deposited material flow to a certain extent and freeze after a short time.

Abstract:

A nanoimprint lithography system and method for manufacturing substrates with nano-scale patterns, having a process chamber with transparent sections on both top and side walls, a robot for automatic molds and substrates loading and unloading, and optical and stage apparatuses to obtain the desired spatial relationship between the mold and substrate, with an enclosed volume referring to mold mini-chamber being formed between the mold/holder and top wall of the chamber and with the process chamber and mini-chamber being capable of both vacuuming and pressurizing, and inside the chamber, a ring shape seal assembly is installed and a mold support assembly can be installed that aids in imprinting all the way to the edge of the substrate with various embodiments for carrying out fluid pressure imprinting, separation, measurement and control of mold and substrate gap, substrate thickness, and system axial force.

Abstract:

A method, computer system, and computer program product. Weather forecast data is generated with respect to an area encompassing a location of a solar farm by a computer system. Solar power output by the solar farm is forecasted by the computer system based on the generated weather forecast data. Forecasted solar power output data is generated by the computer system based on the forecasted solar power output by the solar farm. A power grid operation, including one or both of a power grid balancing operation and a power grid optimization operation, is performed based on the forecasted solar power output data.

In one embodiment, a system that permits large data sets to be sorted using predictive methods. The system has a processor and a memory including one or more storage devices. The processor is adapted to: generate an equation or function characterizing a plurality of data elements; use the equation or function to predict placement of the data elements to create a nearly-sorted list; and perform a final sort of the nearly-sorted list.
