Abstract:

A vehicle display system includes a controller, a display, and a sensor. The controller is configured to be operably disposed on board a vehicle, and the display is configured to be coupled to the controller and to display information to a passenger of the vehicle. The sensor is configured to be coupled to the controller and to detect the passenger when the passenger is in a predetermined area. The controller is configured to change the information displayed by the display responsive to when the sensor detects the passenger in the predetermined area. The system may also include one or more translucent panels (e.g., for a door or window), with the display being attached thereto. The controller may also be configured to control what information is displayed on the display based on vehicle location, speed, mode of operation, etc.

A door assembly for a transit vehicle, the door assembly includes a door frame, and a vehicle door display system including a display configured to display information to a vehicle passenger, and a sensor configured to detect the vehicle passenger when the vehicle passenger is in a predetermined area. The display is configured to change the information when the sensor detects a passenger in the predetermined area.

Abstract:

A passenger communication lighting display on or adjacent a touch bar on a passenger door of a transit vehicle comprises a display that can be controlled to display multiple colors continuous or blinking, and a control means causing the display to be dark when the door is closed, the display to be a first color when the operator has authorized opening, the display to flash a second color when the passenger has requested the door be opened, the display to be blinking the second color when the door is opening, the display to be continuously the second color when the door is resting in the open position, and the display to be blinking a third color while the door is closing.

Abstract:

A dual manual disengagement mechanism for an electric transit door operator having a disengagement shaft extending from the operator comprises a first pinion lever () secured to the disengagement shaft, a second pinion lever () intermeshed with the first pinion gear, a first cable () connected to the first pinion-lever via a clevis end () having an elongate slot, a second cable () connected to the second pinion lever via a clevis end () having an elongate slot. The length of the slots in the clevis ends is such that the pulling of one cable to rotate the disengagement shaft will not cause a tug on the other cable.
