I try very hard to under-promise and over-deliver. I'm willing to go the extra mile. For example, I've worked hours, days, weeks on listings when I knew I would never see a commission payment. I've referred clients to other agents that I felt were more qualified to handle that particular situation or location. I take our Code of Ethics very seriously. If I honestly think it's more advantageous for someone to sell their home under market value to a friend, neighbor, relative, investor... I'll do the research and the math and make the recommendation.
If I list your house, and it's on the other side of the Greater Houston area, I commit to service it as though it were next door -- as long as I feel like I can do the job right. If I'm feel like I don't know the area well enough, I'll say so and risk losing the business. Like I said... I take our Code of Ethics seriously. One of my favorite things to say (to myself, mostly)... If in doubt, do the right thing. Think about it. That's not always easy.
