Abstract:

A method is disclosed for efficiently determining and writing repeatable runout (RRO) compensation value sets for data tracks on a magnetic disk in a disk drive. The disk drive has a magnetoresistive (MR) head having a read element and a separate write element, and a secondary actuator coupled to the end of a primary actuator for adjusting a head skew angle. In the method, the head skew angle is set such that the read and write elements are substantially aligned along the first track. A position error signal for each servo sector is determined over a predetermined number of disk revolutions during track following along a first data track. An RRO compensation value set is calculated for the first data track based on the position error signals. The RRO compensation value set is written for the first data track. A seek operation is then performed to a second data track.

Abstract:

A power supply includes a storage component to store an output current value representative of a magnitude of output current supplied by an output voltage of a power converter to power a load. The power supply further includes an offset reference generator and a controller. The offset reference generator produces an offset reference signal, the output current value being offset by the offset reference signal. The controller controls generation of the output voltage of the power converter as a function of the offset output current value with respect to a threshold signal (value). Additionally, the controller is configured to detect a startup mode of a power converter operative to convert an input voltage into an output voltage. During the startup mode, the controller: i) produces a threshold signal having a magnitude that varies over time, and ii) controls operation of switches in the power converter as a function of the threshold signal while the power converter is operated in a diode emulation mode. Implementation of the startup mode monotonically increases a magnitude of the output voltage without dips.

Abstract:

A computer-implemented method for enforcing dynamic network security policies may include (i) monitoring, by a network traffic protection system, network packets transmitted on a network segment, (ii) detecting, by the network traffic protection system, a suspicious transmission of at least one network packet associated with an endpoint computing device connected to the network segment, (iii) modifying, based on the suspicious transmission of the network packet, at least one network security policy for the network segment, and (iv) enforcing, by the network traffic protection system, the modified network security policy for all endpoint computing devices connected to the network segment. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Abstract:

A method for managing cloud based applications is described. In one embodiment, the method includes detecting initiation of an application, detecting an action performed relative to the application, capturing the data associated with the detected action before the application encrypts the at least portion of the data, analyzing the captured data, and applying a network management policy to a packet flow based at least in part on the analyzing the captured data. In some cases, the application is configured to encrypt at least a portion of data associated with the detected action.
