Abstract:
A method and apparatus aids consistent, high-quality input of meta-information associated with items inserted into a database by coupling a hierarchical subject taxonomy, used to definitively assign an element, with sets of attributes appropriate for each category. Each attribute in turn is itself associated with a set of legal values drawn from a universe of appropriately typed values. The method and apparatus can be used to enable a user of a database management system to input or augment a set of semantically relevant and consistent meta-information associated with content in or being placed into the database management system. The content in the database system is placed into one or more of a set of hierarchical taxonomic categories. Zero or more semantically relevant attributes are associated with each taxonomic category. Relevant sets of values for each attribute, drawn from a universe of appropriate values, are associated with each attribute at each level in the taxonomic hierarchy.

Abstract:
A system and method is provided that can integrate a set of video processing systems for the purpose of increasing productivity and throughput. The integrated system edits video into clips, automatically adds records corresponding to these clips in a centralized database system, adds information about the content of these clips into these records, and controls the compression or conversion of these clips for distribution. The database system is used for managing the clips as well as for the searching of the clips based primarily on the content information added in the above process. Using this process, a digital production line may be built that allows video editors to edit sections from a video tape, have these sections (or clips) be dynamically added to a database system, and provide a mechanism for the editors to apply meta-information to the newly created clips at the same time the clips have been authored. Also, this system provides for the automatic processing of the edited material into alternate formats for such purposes as Internet streaming. The combination of these processes provides significant improvement productivity in the generation of clips, such as video highlights, from complete video.
Method and apparatus for packaging flat products such as a computer disk into a package assembly of sheet material wherein the sheet material folds closed into a two dimensional configuration having a thin lateral profile or folds open into a three dimensional self supporting display stand. The method of packaging comprises the steps of providing a single continuous web of sheet material having two horizontally oriented columns defining first and second major panels separated by a vertical slit line; forming sub-panels in the first major panel with the sub-panels separated by at least one centrally located vertically extending score or perforation line; forming sub-panels in the second major panel with a plurality of parallel spaced vertically extending score or perforation lines for separating each of the sub-panels in the second major panel; applying adhesive to each of the major panels to form linear parallel lines of adhesive on the first of major panel extending vertically down the first major panel and to form an array of adhesive lines on the second major panel at a location adjacent to the vertical slit line separating the first major panel from the second major panel; separating the first major panel from the second major panel along said vertical slit line; folding the second major panel over the first major panel such that at least the two outer sub-panel in the second major panel furthest from the slit line overlies said centrally located score or perforation line in said first major panel without causing any adherence between said outer sub-panels and the first major panel; folding over said two outer sub-panels over score or perforation lines to form a pocket or flap between an outer sub-panel and one of the other previously folded sub-panels for the placement of a flat product; folding the sub-panels of the first and second major panel into a folded over assembly forming a three dimensional configuration when folded open and forms a substantially two dimensional configuration when folded closed; and cutting the web transversely to form a plurality of package assemblies one for each flat product.

Abstract:
Provided herein are embodiments directed to a wireless speaking tube for a stroller. In one or more embodiments, the speaking tube has one or more inlets for receiving sound (e.g., human speech), which then mechanically directs the sound through a series of angled portions and flexible portions to one or more outlets. In one or more embodiments, the speaking tube is attached to a stroller arm such that the inlet is suitable for receiving sounds emanating from a child seated in the stroller, and such that the outlet amplifies the received sounds to a person pushing the stroller. In one or more embodiments, the positions of the inlet and the outlet are reversed, or the speaking tube includes two-way communication between child and person pushing the stroller.
