Skills:
Conduct field surveys; land, engineering (design, construction and site location), hydrographic and energy utilities. Operate Global Positional System (GPS) technology and geographic information systems (GIS). Operate advanced surveying and computational techniques including electronic instrument transits with attachments for astronomical observation, computer and data collection. Create and submit project data and reports for completed surveys and surveys in progress. Convert collected conventional and GPS field data collectors into software programs. Design, lay out, digitize, integrate, edit and create topographic and planimetric products: maps for planning, design and construction. Utilize the Battle Command Sustainment Support System (BCS3) for in-transit visibility of military and commercial vehicles, equipment maintenance status checks and unit logistics status reporting. Additional skills: Perform quality assurance checks regarding accuracy, positional tolerances, datum statements and data continuity prior to final delivery and quality control on drawings, databases, photogrammetry, geodetic surveying, geodesy, route surveying, remote sensing, cartography, land information systems, computer-aided mapping, aerial photo interpretation, and survey analysis and adjustments.
