Abstract:

A method for installation of a raised access floor panel with a raised access floor is provides which includes providing a pedestal support system having a plurality of vertically extending pedestal supports each having an upper end connected to a pedestal support head and a lower end connected to a pedestal support base. The pedestal support heads are each connected in a matrix orientation with a plurality of horizontal stringers. A floor panel plate is provided having four corner portions, four lateral edge portions, an upper load bearing surface, a lower plenum surface, and a clear hole positioned adjacent to each of the corner portions. A threaded collar is vertically connected to the lower plenum surface and positioned in axial alignment with the clear hole. A single handed set screw has an upper tool receiving end and a lower foot end. The set screw engages the threaded collar so that the tool receiving end extends through the clear hole.

Abstract:

A floor panel plate has four corner portions, four lateral edge portions, an upper load bearing surface, a lower plenum surface, and a clear hole positioned adjacent to each of the corner portions. A threaded collar is vertically connected to the lower plenum surface and positioned in axial alignment with the clear hole. A single handed set screw has an upper tool receiving end and a lower foot end. The set screw engages the threaded collar so that the tool receiving end extends through the clear hole so that when operated the set screw adjusts the upper load bearing surface to a predetermined level in relation to the pedestal head of a pedestal support system.

Abstract:

A raised access floor panel with a replaceable insert is provided. The panel includes a cross-braced framework constructed of four side rail members, and at least one cross-brace member. The cross-brace member is connected to the rail members so that the cross-brace member spans an area defined by the rail members. A plate frame is connected to an upper edge of the framework. The plate frame has a centroid void area which is surrounded by a peripheral portion. The peripheral portion includes an inner margin and an outer margin. The outer margin has right-angled corner forming portions. The inner margin is formed with a Z-section profile having a web portion which is capable of receiving the panel insert in fitment with the plate frame so that the insert and the peripheral portion are capable of providing a co-planar working surface.

Abstract:

A directional flow raised floor air-grate is provided for the enhanced thermal management of a raised floor computer room. The air-grate includes a load bearing frame. The frame has four vertical girders connected, in a ninety-degree alignment, so that four corners of the frame are capable of supporting the air-grate as an air handling separation barrier on a raised floor pedestal support system. A plurality of vertical reinforcing beam members is connected to the frame so that the reinforcing beams are aligned in a longitudinal spaced relationship. At least two vertical airfoil vane members have an upper inclined and, lower vertical planar surfaces. These surfaces are demarcated by a longitudinal axis of the vane members. The vane members are connected to the frame in a crosswise spaced relationship to the reinforcing beam members, so that a plurality of openings are created between the reinforcing beams and the airfoil vanes. The upper inclined planar surface of the airfoil directs cooling air from a lower plenum of a raised floor through the openings on an inclined plane towards the cold air intake surfaces of a data server cabinet to be cooled.
