Abstract:

An apparatus for indicating fuel efficiency in an aircraft. The apparatus includes a processor having a plurality of inputs, wherein the inputs include a ground speed input for receiving ground speed data signals and a fuel flow input for receiving fuel flow data signals. A display is connected to the processor. Generation means for determining a fuel efficiency number from ground speed data signals and fuel flow data signals is included and a display means is employed to generate a fuel efficiency signal for displaying the fuel efficiency number on the display.

Abstract:

A sensor that transmits data in response to detecting turbulence. The sensor is located somewhere within an aircraft. A modification circuit is connected to the sensor. This modification circuit may include a threshold detector for passing on signals exceeding a selected threshold. Other functions provided by the modification circuit could include averaging of signals and determining whether a threshold has been exceeded more than once within a particular amount of time or how many times the threshold has been exceeded within a selected amount of time. An adjustment circuit adjusts the signal based on the characteristics of the aircraft. This adjustment circuit is employed to standardize the indication of turbulence in aircraft having different characteristics. For example, a large aircraft and a small aircraft would require different adjustments of the signal to produce a standard indication of turbulence. A display device is connected to the adjustment circuit to display the standardized indication of aircraft turbulence.

Abstract:

A method of enhancing nerve function by directly stimulating the atoms transgressing the architecture of an ion channel utilizing one or more nuclear quadrupole resonant frequency stimuli targeted at the specific ions in their particular environment. By altering the spin state of the atoms, Na+ and K+ for example, they may more readily navigate the natural barriers necessary for both the rapid throughput and high selectivity that are characteristic of ion channels. The method and applications are primarily directed at inadequate nerve function resulting from injury or disease; however, a direct opposite approach may be used to block nerve responses for the purpose of pain management. The system includes feedback control of four signal parameters: frequency, interval, width and amplitude. The method may utilize multiple resonant stimulators, including implanted devices which can communicate with one another.

Abstract:

A method of enhancing the combustion process by stimulating one or more components of a fuel/air mixture using nuclear resonance to selectively reduce or increase the oxidation of selected components of the combustion reaction, e.g., nitrogen (N-14) or hydrogen (H-1). The method can utilize either nuclear magnetic resonance for H-1 or nuclear quadrupole resonance for N-14. Stimulation of the components can occur before, during, or after the combustion reaction in the combustion area. Stimulation with an electromagnetic pulse can be synchronized with the combustion reaction. A feedback system is used to sense one or more operating parameters of the combustion reaction, and adjust the nuclear resonance stimulation based on sensed operating parameters. For example, if the stimulation is an RF signal having a beginning frequency, this frequency can be adjusted based on sensory information regarding gas levels or temperature in an exhaust stream.
