Abstract:

In one embodiment, a removable air filter is mounted proximate to where electrical equipment is mounted in a case. The filter has at least two sections with different finite air impedances. The filter is constructed of a filter media mounted inside of a frame. When the equipment arrangement is modified, the filter can be replaced with another filter with a different impedance profile, such that the air flow remains optimal for many equipment arrangements. The impedance profile can also be tailored to compensate for the characteristic airflow of the case design. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract:

A lever assembly for use with electronic modules has a handle lever with a self-sprung cantilevered handle section. The cantilevered handle section can be flexed with respect to the non-cantilevered portion of the handle lever during module insertion to automatically engage a catch that prevents the handle lever from inadvertently or accidentally being released and unseating the module. Once the flexing force is removed, compression of the handle section remains at the catch, such that the handle section continues to apply leverage force in the closure direction to hold the module securely in place.

Abstract:

A standoff joins a circuit board to a chassis member using a rivet. The standoff has a cap surface with a hole that allows the body of an unexpanded blind rivet to pass into an inner cavity of the standoff. The rivet is then expanded against the underside of the cap. In use, the standoff rests against the underside of a circuit board, and the rivet passes through a hole in the circuit board and into the standoff. The rivet head engages the circuit board to hold the circuit board against the standoff.

Abstract:

A heat pipe for conducting heat away from an electronic device attached to a removable electronic module includes two self-aligning sections. A source section is attached to the removable electronic module and a target section passes through and is retained by a fixed member. One end of the source section is in thermal contact with a heat source and the other end includes a self aligning female thermal interface. One end of the target section includes a self aligning male thermal interface and the other end includes a heat sink. The female end of the source section and the male end of the target section are moved into contact with each other to form a thermal connection that permits heat from the heat source to be transferred to the heat sink.

A time-interleaved sample-and-hold system includes a first sample-and-hold circuit and a second sample-and-hold circuit. The first sample-and-hold circuit and the second sample-and-hold circuit share a common sampling switch. Abstract:

A collapsible table height cart is disclosed for elevating a table top mounted case enclosed machine, such as a voting station for deployment of a direct recording electronic voting machine. The erection of the case on the cart is assisted by a series of pivoting motions over a cart fulcrum for ease of voting station erection by polling place personnel having less than average strength. The collapsed cart is flush to one side of the case. The case and collapsed cart transport on a supporting tracking wheel pair protruding from a lower edge of the case at the collapsed cart. Stowing occurs with the case containing the polling station standing on end in a substantially vertical position. Support of the polling station in the vertical stowed position occurs from both the tracking wheel pair and paired arcuate members extending over the bottom edge of the cart. Rocking of the case on the paired arcuate members away from the tracking casters enables the tracking caster pair to pivot away from the collapsed cart on a tracking caster frame pivoting from the fulcrum support in the middle of the cart.

Abstract:

A combination packing case and desk includes a shelf unit adapted to secure a plurality of articles during shipping. A hollow seating member having an open bottom is adapted to be received about the upper portion of the shelf unit to protect the articles therein. An outer casing is provided with an open bottom and is adapted to be received about the shelf unit-seating member assembly in fully enclosed fashion. At the shipping destination, the outer casing comprises a base upon which the shelf unit is supported to form a desk. The seating member may be used in conjunction with the desk for tasks involving the articles shipped in and supported on the shelf unit.

Abstract:

A container holds an absorbent pad which contains fluids for cleansing toilet facilities before using them, or for cleansing or moisturizing a person's body after using a toilet. One carries one or more such containers on one's person. To use the container one opens it and expresses fluid from the pad onto dry clean toilet paper by pressing that toilet paper onto the pad. One then uses the now moist toilet paper to clean a toilet seat, or to clean or moisturize one's person or the person of another. Then one disposes of the now used toilet paper as one normally disposes of toilet paper.
