Abstract:
A compact system for determining the presence and speed of an object/vehicle, and its application for Red Light Camera photo-enforcement is disclosed. The disclosed system uses accurate timing, laser radiation in the form of optical pulses, and the scattering effect of optical pulses from the road or vehicle surface to determine the presence of a vehicle, and estimate its speed. The system can determine whether an object/vehicle is present at a specific location, estimate its height, and in the case that the object/vehicle is moving, the system can estimate its speed. Combining the disclosed technology with commercially available digital recording techniques and equipment, a traffic photo-enforcement system can be constructed. The system is capable of monitoring traffic in an intersection/highway, measure vehicle speed, identify potential traffic violations, and trigger a visual recording device such as a camera or video system for documenting a violation. The system can serve as a tool by law enforcement agencies and research groups for other applications, such as measurement of traffic density, monitor vehicle speed, and the study of traffic patterns.

Abstract:
A system of lasers and detectors to detect the presence of objects and determine their speed is disclosed. The system comprises of a pair of lasers and a pair of detectors focused through a single lens or a pair of lenses. An electronic board that accompanies the lasers and detectors is used to provide the logic and decision making mechanism. Data collected and processed by the system yields such information as whether an object is present, whether the object is stationary or is moving, and subsequent speed information. The described system is also capable of providing additional information concerning the characteristics of the moving object such as its profile and length, and indication of a traffic violation.

Abstract:
A method and system for generating vapors of liquid solutions where a pneumatically modulated liquid delivery system maintains a defined flow rate for a liquid solution. The pneumatically modulated liquid delivery system includes a flow meter configured to measure a flow rate for the liquid solution flowing from a pressure vessel; a microcontroller configured to determine a pressure necessary to achieve the defined flow rate; and an electronic pressure control unit configured to adjust the pressure inside the pressure vessel. The system includes a nebulizer coupled to the pneumatically modulated liquid delivery system configured to receive the liquid solution from the pneumatically modulated liquid delivery system at the defined flow rate and configured to generate an aerosol of the liquid solution. A heat tube can vaporize the aerosol generated by the nebulizer.

Abstract:
A radio frequency (RF) transponder (RF tag) is proposed, where a high dielectric constant material is used in operative cooperation with a tag antenna so that the distance of the tag antenna from conducting or absorbing surfaces may be reduced, and so the tag dimensions may be reduced.

Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a structure having: a support, a plurality of nanowires perpendicular to the support, and an electrode in contact with a first end of each nanowire. Each nanowire has a second end in contact with the support. The electrode contains a plurality of perforations. The electrode contains a plurality of perforations. Also disclosed herein is a method of: providing the above support and nanowires; depositing a layer of a filler material that covers a portion of each nanowire and leaves a first end of each nanowire exposed; depositing a plurality of nanoparticles onto the filler material; depositing an electrode material on the nanoparticles, the ends of the nanowires, and any exposed filler material; and removing the nanoparticles and filler material to form an electrode in contact with the first end of each nanowire; wherein the electrode contains a plurality of perforations.

The present invention is directed to a self consistent method for adaptive implementation of overflying multi sensor measurements and derivation of conclusions and determinations “agregants”, derived and/or developed from the measured results and/or resulting from science-based processing design to integrate and process the measured results and other data and scientific knowledge. Furthermore, the aggregants may be pertinent to determination of status and proactive management models of the at least one distributed resource by a single or repeatable implementation of one or several steps.
